Yep sure do.

That's one of the examples the guy used.

Hence why now all racing yachts use composites like carbon etc.

You're forgetting the wally factor:

"So and so's mast is carbon and he's winning. If I had a carbon mast I'd be winning too and I'd look really cool"

Quick question, should I cut the bottom panel off? (Below boot) I’m TOLD that it creates drag.

I'd be surprised if that created enough drag that you'd even notice.. unless the underside of your car is flat and smooth and gets higher at the rear - then you might get a bit of a diffuser effect and hence downforce... not likely though!

By the time the air gets there its dirty (turbulent) and therefore is less likely to cause drag anyway....

Don't know if there are any legal/structural implications either. Woulda thought it would reduce the stiffness of that section...

It also creates strength, so the answer is no!

Shoot me down in flames but I can see how the rear valance gives strength to anything other than under the boot area althought the rear seams. Considering the rear subframe would be the main ancer points on all four corners.
But I will agree I can't see it helping much anyway or being leagle on the track also

Hey guys

Thanks for the kind words. I also think it looks better without the front wing. - And dw about em, she loves it

Now, It would be great if I had rego on it, ill see how I go

Now, got the flares off eBay, they are very phat! I would love to make copies before I fit these, as they are perfect fit for a clubman, perfect.

Oh, the front bar is also for a clubman, like the ones used in the twincam headed super duper Japanese race minis u see pop up in mini mags etc.

Looks like ill be leaving the rear panel, Just thought I would run it past u lot first.

The old girl is off to the blasters once I get paid, then a layer of 2 pak etch primer will be sprayed on, just to stop the body rusting anymore.

Anyway, its late, I have to get some sleep so I can dig the suby out of the mud tomorrow :D

Hey!

I was so lucky when I won them, and I only would want to make a mold for them, cause I have never seen any others like them around, and it would be a shame to smash these ones.

About the rear panel thingo.....

I'd personally leave it as it looks better on than off (I have a Mini with it off, as I have a replacement for it). However, there was a blue 1460 (I think), Arden 8-port and ingected Clubman in Miniworld a couple of years back which was awesome to say the least. This Clubby had a long retangular section of the rear panel cut out and replaced by a chrome wire mesh. It looked really cool and race-inspired rather than dodgy chicken wire, backyard dodgy-bros. Just something to think about, but I say leave it.

Thats a diffuser - it creates downforce.... well thats what they're meant to do... depends on the rest of the underbody as to whether it actuallly works!!
