SVBFH = super very big FH.
Early Clubby had the centre `speedo' hole like a roundnose, later ones didn't.

I can say that, as we own Roundies, Clubbies and Mokes...

Slight hiccup today, GR's ground out 22G68 gearbox case won't let the stroker crank swing round- the BB Chevy big end nuts hit it at front. Even after I've ground more out than Graham had.
But my Mini K case lets `em swing past fine, so I'll use that. 8)

Looking forward to next Saturday... :P

Pics from today, a Mini-K 4 synchro gearbox casing on now.
All that's inside it is the oil pickup.
No gaskets used, just blue RTV- as it's coming off again when I get the S ratio rodchange box finished.
I still have to mill up a Bling alloy cover for that fuel pump hole. Breathers on there do not work over 4000 rpm, I found that out with my 1310. :x So it has one on the flywheel housing, and a small one if needed on the rocker cover.

For those who are wondering, the engine dyno gets connected to GR's flywheel hub (modified) via a driveshaft.

Hi Kev

thanks for the insight into your build.

can you help with 2 points you mentioned.

1. breather out of fuel pump hole, doesnt it work, even with a long hose up to a breather tank?

2. I also have a 22G68 3 sychro box that i have started to fit to a 1300 engine, std 1.75" B/E crank & stroke. i fitted the box to the block i got the same fouling problem. Are you able to show how much has to be ground out so i can see how much welding/fab will be needed.Want to use this box because it is a SCCR & dont have a 4 synchro version.

you'd just keep cutting/grinding till it doesn't hit wouldn't you?

it's a bugger you're not in Australia - Morris 1100 S's use a 3 synchro 'box, but are a 1275 so the cases would take your gears... there must be heaps of those boxes laying around after the engines have gone into minis on 4 synchro boxes. I know I have 2 of them....

Q1.
I say it doesn't work (with PCV), GR says the same. However you can buy a breather for there from MiniMania in US.
I've not tried a long hose into a breather tank.
My story is this- when I built this motor previously (1310cc, forged flat top Mahle pistons, VP3 cam etc) all was fine during running in. But the minute I went over 4500 rpm it sucked heaps of oilz up into the PCV valve and manifold. Made like JB007...
Apparently the spinning crank & rods throw wads of oil straight at that hole. Not a great spot for a breather. So I fitted one in the right place, to the flywheel housing.

Q2.
A 22G68 might be OK with a 1275 `supposedly' but I have one here which fouled there, with S crank and rods.
Most I've seen with a 1275 on had a bit of grinding inside.
I would inspect a 4 synchro box flange, grind it out to that- their front flange scallops are on the centreline of the boltholes.
