Not in 20 minutes or so .... It's earlyish on a Sunday morning so there's not many people on yet , plus there's haven't been many Honda conversions done here . The favourite so far seems to be the Toyota Starlet GT engine swap but also Suzuki swift GT1 motors and some Daihatsu 3 cylinders . Give it a day or so and you'll probably have more info .

I have not heard of any D series conversions here in Aus, but the website above specialises in them, and K series.

As for hubs and brakes, I guess it depends on your country. I'm undergoing a Starlet GT conversion, and will be useing Metro Turbo brakes with Mini hubs (8.4 inch diameter, 4pot, ventilated discs on the front) and standard rear step drums (with Cooper S brake cylinders).

My suspension will be standard rubber cone with Spax adjustable dampers. Mostly because I like the stiffness, goes around corners better. But to each there own with suspension stiffness.

Are you using a kit like the above website? If so, you should be able to get soft springs for a comfortable ride, to suit that kit fairly easily, but maybe not cheaply.

Hello Mr Chaudry,

Here are a couple of pics of D-Series Honda's in round-nose Minis.......

Sorry, no pics of a D15B7 (??) in a round-nose, but if you can get a ZC or A8/A9 in you can get anything to fit.

Regards,
Tricky

Hi Chaudry,

Try and go for the latest Swift GTi brakes you can find.

I would suggest however that you investigate going down the Metro route (8.4" vented rotors and 4-pot calipers) as Slinkey Inc. suggested. This would be a much easier solution, as they mate up to the Mini hubs with too much effort.

Metro brakes are solid performers for a modified Mini and the changeover from the standard drum brakes is very easy.

Cheers,
Tricky

Chaudry,

Metro brakes are super common in the UK - just get some sent over.

You would pay less than we do!

Nothing wrong with the old rubber cones as long as they are in good nick and are paired with some decent dampers. You can also get some aftermarket rubber cones from Moulton (Moulton Supa-ride) that are a bit less firm than the standard rubber cones.

As an option you can buy coil springs which replace the rubber comes and they come in various spring rates from soft to firm. These also need to be mated with a good pair of dampers.

Personally, I am running coil-over GAZ adjustable dampers on mine, which gives the most tuneable setup in terms of spring rate, ride height, compression and rebound dampening.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Tricky

To upload photo's you'll have to put them on a photo hosting site like photobucket , imageshack or host them on your own web space provided by most ISP's . Have a look at this thread , it gives the general run down on how to do it though has a bit of extra info .
http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10405

The Noob designation is linked to your number of posts , everyone starts as a nood (newbie , new person call it what you will) , then after a number of posts (I forget what it is now) you'll get 850cc , then 998cc , then 1098cc etc as you post more . It's just a quick way of seeing how much someone has posted here .
