I was stopped by a cop yesterday on the 3 minute drive from work to home. it was 4am I just had a few drinks after work (I'm a proffesional so can handle alot :)), was doing a fair bit of speeding, I think the resonator has crcked so she is pretty noisy in a residential area, was missing my front bumper which I removed to install front driving lights and still didnt put back, and wasnt displaying my green P's and carots (too lazy to go and do the test for a full licence).

The cop asked me if I had anything to drink, I said no. He asked me where my P's were, I took them from the door pocket. I apologised for the P's and he told me to drive on. At other times offcourse they can be real bastards but I personaly dont share the general hatred towards the police.

We need the boys in blue I mean when the underprivileged rise to demand their rights who else is gonna bash them into submision?

if its only a 3 minute drive then why didnt you walk!

anyone who drinks and drives are completely stupid and deserve to get booked by the police. if you are courtious or not, that doesn't matter, drink driving is not big, it aint clever and its putting your life at risk and possibly others.

We all speed, no one can san they dont, or havent!

but drinking and driving i say should be put on an automatic ban!

then to come on here bragging about your escape, thinking you havent done anything wrong, even though you were over the limit and think you can handle it cos you are big and hard.

i hope they throw the book at you when you are caught next!

Damn dude you got me there, you even know I'm big and hard. I mean most people can see that I'm big, but hard too?

I didnt come here to brag about dirnk driving, I came to say that the police are not the monster its portrayed to be. I didnt say that I was drunk, I had two Becks at the end of the night and have been working on new cocktails before that so some drinking there as well. But I'm 90kg and 190cm (and thats not in the same area where I'm big and hard) and I had a meal from the restaurant at work and I work with alcohol every day and am pretty experienced so I know when I'm ok to drive, and otherwise would stop drinking way before that or indeed walk home. What I was saying is that there was this crazy combination of factors and if breathalised so soon after the two beers I might've tested over the 0.02 limit (since I've been to lazy to upgrade to a full licence for the last 3 years).

Drink driving is wrong in any form, and it is probably the worst driving offense possible much more serious than speeding (or not displaying a 'full set of clean authorised "P" plates of the correct size on front and rear positions clearly visible to all' for that matter) and it doesnt get neerly enough attention by the authorities. I'm a pretty experienced bartender and I am very carefull in folowing the RSA (NSW responsible service of alcohol regulation) with my customers and promoting cabs when they have been drinking.

But does your comment about everybody speeding inccluding yourself gives me the moral superiority to pretend youre a murderous maniac since my mom has been in an accident with a speeding driver twice and since they've got those matrix style anti speeding messages on the tv? And if you listen to the statistics comming out of the Speed coucil should I say that you speeding aint big aint clever and puts others at danger too?

I'm sorry about your mate (and seriously I go beyound just the meaningless "I'm sorry" expression it is really stupid and horrible and unfair when a life goes like that) but this doesnt mean that you're justified at exploding at me - the driver who killed him was drunk, I never go near my car when I am.

Well if you think being courteous makes a difference, you havent met QLD police. I'm constantly being pulled over for RBT's as I get home late each night. The RBT and Licence Check wasnt good enough the other night, they decided to get me out of the car and search the entire thing from bonnet to bootlid(even to the extent of going through my wallet).

I wasnt real impressed as they left me on the side of the road at midnight repacking my car cover and other crap in the boot.

as to drink drivers................. BLOODY IDIOTS

whether you know you can handle your drink is not the issue, eventually you will get caught and its not worth losing a licence over.

if you say you know when enough drink is enough, then i can say i know when not to go over a certain speed, i wasnt talking about doubling the speed limit, but what i was saying that everyone's speed fluctuates, everyone goes over and under the limit, but you only need be caught once by the police

Just be careful mate, it all depends on what mood the police are in at the time!!

enough said!
