i cut my rear mount up welded it to a plate that fixes to the back of the gearbox and then made a fixing point on the subframe. The engine needs to be fitted first and then the mount installed and fixed in place.

Answeing your pm, your biggest drama with running the exhaust behind the motor will be the limited access once you install the intake manifold, starter, shafts etc. You will also need to decide where to put the water lines for the radiator if you mount it in the rear.

You will find most of your engine bay will end up being filled up with sruff.

I thought that how you had your exhaust set up was better but my mates disagreed,

Cheers,

Hey, I recognise that car, it looks exactly the same as my first mini. It used to give me whiplash when I'd drive down your street and see it parked in the front yard. I even stopped and had a look at it once.

If you were at the last Minifest, my old Mini was there. It was the sad looking wreck on the spit, waiting to be done up. Same colour blue, with a white roof.

I don't know, I sold it 8 or 9 years ago. It looked immaculate then.

Yeah, I used to live in Howrah too. My Moke came from a bloke in Rosetta or Claremont, not your Dad by any chance? It used to have a white Leyland hardtop.
