You can lock the passengers door from the inside but not on the drivers side. The keyhole is on the outside on the handle and when you turn the key it just turns the handle. Can some one please tell me how to lock it and help me.

You exit the vehicle, close the door, insert key into lock, turn key to lock the door.

Entry is reverse of exit

If turning the key doesn't turn the barrel then you don't have the right key or the lock is jammed - WD40 or locksmith

just reach out the window and lock the door with the key...

otherwise you can't...


i guess carjackings weren't an issue in 1959....

i always wonderd if you can fit a passenger side internal door lock to the drivers side, so you can have the little latch to the inside while your in the car

My 850 has the latch inside on the drivers door... Is this not standard?
I just have to make sure that the latch is'nt triggered when i close the door from the outside, or i'm locked out! It happened once but luckily i didn't have the window locks fitted.

No not standard, you have a passenger side lock in there.

You can fit a remote central locking kit and then use the push button on the remote. I had to fit the actuator upside down to get the geometry right then cross the wiring over so they worked the right way.

Will not work with any MK1 and will be exceedingly hard to achieve with an OZ MK2. Will require cutting the doors sides to feed wiring too.

Best central locking I saw on an Oz Mk1 used solenoid operated shotbolts from the door into the B pillar, 1/2 way up. 8)
You still have to manually shut and open the doors though.

I think that's cool but one day it fails.....and hmm... shotbolted door....hahaha
