[Hysteria]

Yes its true

Yesterday afternoon I heard a terrible sound, then my car sounded like a jet engine taking off and it sounded sweet kinda like a highly tuned V12 does. Then I heard another sound what I can only describe as polestrine SNAPPING. This caused the engine sound to changed from "highly tuned V12" to a untuned diesel V8. So I pulled over to the side of the road whacked my left blinker on, popped the hood and investigated visually and checked things like water, oil and leads/hoses everything I could think of. During this inspection I found that a engine mount had broken and the exhaust pipe had severed from the extractors about 2 inches below the 3 go into 1.

The scariest part of all of this is two things one I wasn't driving spiritedly and haven't 99% of th time since i have had my licence back and the secondly it all happened on river rd, lane cove as most Sydney people know is a PITA at the best of times. A bit over an hour later I was towed away straight to Greig's. Who thankfully is having a look at her today and was there to help.

I will be hearing from Greig later today or tomorrow to know the full extent of the damage etc... at least she's in good hands!!!! Oh and I'm getting her tuned too why she's there. =P

[End Hysteria]

Yea as i thought exhaust snbapped off teh extractors and the engine mount behind the radiator also broke.

Greig reckons probably tommorow pickup but might take longer. I'll update again when I know more.

You're lucky on two counts then, 1) It's not a new engine job and 2) you didn't get cleaned up by some ding bat along River road. That's a scary place to break down. 8)

You're not wrong mate. I was for that reason standing between the oncoming traffic and my Mini so they'd hit me not the Mini! Also yea I was lucky regarding the engine mount, my guess is the mount fracturing, making the first of two noises, then the louder second noise was it completely snapping through.

Just letting you all know its all fixed and running like a absolute trooper. Had a few extras done to what I initially thought would be neccessary but I'm very happy with the outcome.
