Umm hard to say I get the feeling the KKR 280 is about the same as a Garrett GT25 in fact it looks almost identical and bolts up to G/T25 flange. I have seen a TD04 up close and it was considerably bigger IMHO. But given that it is designed for a 2-2.5L you'd expect that.
Minimad here's a photo of (me praying to) the new KKR if that helps. Also can't rave about these KKR more, really good honest turbo for about half the price of a garrett equivalent.
Yeah the turbo starts to hiss at 3 and you get the kick in the pants at about 3750 - 4000. I think this has to do with the length of my manifold runners possibly. Longer runners later onset. Also Minimad install one of those turbotech boost valves as because the only open once you reach your desired boost level the boost comes on a lot quicker (as opposed to the standard which starts to bleed early on meaning a longer period to full boost if that makes sense at all).
Also Minimad sorry to hear about the blow by that sucks...
Dean's lucky because he has strengthened the internals he can start running high boost unfortunately with stock internals I believe 180atw bhp is about the limit if you don't want the engine going bang. It pulled 186atw on 15psi. But I wound it back to 12 for that reason. Also it is running 10:1 AFR on boost and the guys who dynoed it said it may get a few more ponies especially in midrange if I bring that back to 11.8 or 12:1. So that's the next pursuit...Can we have another dyno day I completely missed the info for the last one...
Thanks for the interest. Cheers M.
