The copper gaskets used to be the best ones. They were thin sheets of copper with a layer of asbestos in between. Since they have banned asbestos they just use some cardboard like substance and I would never use one, not even in Willys car.
The Australian made gaskets are now the best ones to use.

What about the 'Metro Turbo' ones? Are they any different to the Aussime made ones, or are the Aussie ones 'turbo' type? Before I started my motor for the first time I ahd to take the head off to remove a broken stud. And I replaced the 'el cheapo' synthentic (not copper!) gasket with an uprated 'turbo gasket'.

As said, the ACL gasket is CP250MT.
Watch it if ordering by phone- nowhere on the packaging does it mention 1098 motors, it says "948 and 998"- very strange as 1098 bore is same as a 998..
