hey guys, just wondering if 1.5 roller rockers will give a good performance increase on my 1150cc. It has a modified head RE13 cam, extractor exaust and a 1 1/2 su carb.
Also would these rockers be more suited for racing than driving in general.

cheers

Some roller rockers wear out faster than they improve the engine. Might be a bit much for the old 1100 too.

Not sure if Doc is still making them, but the ToyoMini rockers would be better value for $$

He'll make a comment soon, i'm sure.

hey mate i wanted 1.5 ratio rockers on my 1098 but i was told it is to much for the 1098 they work alot better on a big bore engine...... just get a big lumpy cam for it...

Didn't GR state in one of his Mini Experience articles that they reduced torque with an RE13 cam?

I wouldn't run them with an RE13 on a 1098. You'd be better off with 1.3 roller rockers. Save the 1.5s for a worked 1275

OK, I have had 1.5's on a 1152cc with a big head and intake, extractors, and they suck! you lose about 10ft/lbs of torque all through the rev range. Save your money!

RE13 on a small bore, YES! graham grinds several types of RE13's, namely RE13 small bore, RE13 big bore and RE13 turbo. Several people here run 1098's with RE13 and they will tell you how good it is...

Only point in using 1.5 rockers on any smallbore is if the cam is a dud with hardly any lift.
But if so, a new decent sports cam and lifters is way cheaper than hi-lift rockers.
I agree, with an RE13 there is no need on a smallbore. Best ones for the money are a set of stock early 1275 pressed steel ones, they measure in around 1.3:1.

I've seen a set of roller rockers trashed (flats on rollers) in 10,000km on a road motor. Watch what you buy....

I have roller 1.3:1 rockers with the small bore RE 13 cam and they run a treat but the 1.5:1 ratio rockers I ended up breaking one of the spring caps with them - too much lift!!!

stick to the 1.3 ratio and you wont go wrong

Hooroo
