Anyone know the size of the inlet and exhaust vales on a standard Rover Mini?

Also, is the head any different to that of an older 1100?

Cheers,
S

As far as I know the valves are the same size. I would guess they would be similar to a 202. I do know they have bigger water galleries.

I'll guess you're looking to swap one out on the 1100 you own?

There is not much 1100 anywhere other than Australia apparently.

Am looking at buying a 1100 Rover Mini.

I already have a ported 202 head so thought I'd build one for high compression
and the other for forced induction.

Wanted to know if the Rover had any better flow, so I can decide which head to do what with.. If that makes any sense.

Cheers,
S

Definitely no such thing as an 1100 engine from a Rover.

A 202 head (from a 1098) will go onto a 998 block.

I don't get it?!
Isn't a 1098 the same as an 1100 (uno just a stroked 998)
In any event I thought the 1098's had a 202 head.

So what's the go?

ok, firstly, lots of UK clubmans were 1100's (1098) which aussies will call "rovers", but clubman production in the uk ended in 79? (81 for the 1275gt)

secondly, lateish (80's) rover 998's will have the camxxxx head, which has small valves, unleaded seats, low compression and solid rockers.....throw it away and put the 202 on :D

The car I was looking at is a 1987 Rover built Mini, with round nose front.
Definately unleaded. Has 1100 stamped on the block.

Doesn't it already have a 202 head?

that late, if its a standard car, the engine will not be an 1100, where on the engine does it say 1100? only fairly early (60s?) 1098's had 1100 stamped on a plate riveted to the back of the engine.
whats the engine number?
:P
