We are currently looking at trading in our commodore and buying a new mini.

What we want to know is what can the new minis tow? We have a caravan that weighs roughly 900kg, will the new mini tow this?

Thanks

Lynda

lynda looks like you're in the clear.
thats if my rule of the towee being under 2/3 the weight of the tow-er is correct
thats quite funny, ive never imagined a MINI towing a caravan before

See my reply in the other thread.

If Marvins specs are right the maximum you can tow is....

Its a 70's caravan that folds up like a camper trailer. You can see over the top of it in the rear view mirror. I can show you a pic if you like.

Im just worried about stressing the poor car out thats all. We will just take the kitchen and everything out of the caravan....hope that works!

Getting a tow bar fitted is going to be an issue if you buy a Cooper S given the centre exhaust.

Good luck with it, am interested to see if it can be done successfully.

I have a MINI brochure thing in front of me.
A Cooper is rated at 650 kg max @ 12% gradient, a cooper S is not rated.

(I thought I already posted this, doesnt matter :? )
