I'm dragging this one up again....

what does anyone know about twin element rear indicators?? we've been told that my dad's '68 S was a cop car, and when putting in rear indicator globes we got a shock when we realised that both sides have twin element light fittings.... I wouldn't have thought they were for reversing lights, but the loom does have reversing light switch wires at the front...

:?:

Yes the very late S's got reversing lights (my mate has one), the switch is in the remote box, below the oil filter.

Yep, it's a `71, has twin filament 21W/21W rear blinker bulbs like a Clubby does.

<edit> a 68S would not have them stock, sounds like added later or maybe it's a Police pack thing.

This ID plate was removed from a MkII S. .
What's interesting is that the car was plated as having a seating capacity of 2. . .
Does anyone know if the cars that the police were using at the time may have been licenced as two seaters (or if there's possibly another explanation)?

Looks like YG2S4 2315 has made its way over to NZ.
