The good news is the MINI IS GOING! :P I heard it via phone yesterday purring like a kitten. It was out of the car, getting painted tonight (red, duh) and going back in the car this weekend.. oh frigging yay!

but....

the weber needs a full reconditioning. The butterflies were seized solid and the rest is in pretty similar condition. Where would I take it for servicing in Perth, WA. guys?

I have two webers so will give them both and hopefully they can give me a decent one back.. but I have no idea where to take it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

PS the starter motor is cactus, will go a recon replacement
and the fuel pump is stuffed. Ive been told I should go electric, is there anything special I need to watch for in buying a replacement fuel pump?

with your weber depends if you wanna do it yourself or give the old ones and some money and pick it up ready to go
if ya wanna do it yourself check with places like repco they normally have a recon kit for carbies and the like so they might have something or should be able to tell ya where to get em
unsure about who overthere would rebuild em though. Your local mechanics should be able to recommend someone though

I find my local dynotune is the best place for weber parts- they charge reasonable prices unlike some of the more retail parts places that usually dont have any DCOE parts in the first place.

ERR Motor Sports in maddington is awesome.. hes actually a ford escort specialist but the weber is the same thing (and he will do any car he finds worth working on).. they just usally run 2.. i've had alot of problems in the past with carby rebuilders but he does a good job or will know of someone who will if hes too busy. i ended up getting him to tell me how and i bought the kit and did it myself.. its dead easy, you just need s'loads of carby clean and a good memory to put it back together

the carby kits come with all gaskets and diaphrams.

also for your fuel pump buy a 1-4 PSI one
covs sell them.. i cant remember the brand

call super cheap autos vic park during the week and ask for nick (this is important he knows what hes doing). tell him andrew said to call him about a 1-4 psi fuel pump and he will be able to order you one in..

if you get any more than the 1-4 psi (next up is 3-6psi) one you will flood the carby and she'll run like a dog. its an external high grade fuel pump and from them its about 90 bux and comes with fittings

super cheap sell them for about 30-40 bux cheaper than coventrys

i use one of these on my girlfriends twin barrel weber and you will never have a problem with vapour lock again.. also handy if you run out of fuel as they are self priming and you dont have to kick you engine over for hours to get the fuel to the carby

i will never go back to a mechanical fuel pump again
