i used a wire brush and some el-beau grease when i had contessas.

i'd paint the centres black/charcoal or chrome/silver.

i havent seen many if any gold ones that look spectacular, and i dunno with a red car also..

maybe if you had a subaru world rally blue mini gold wheels would look good :D

welcome to the site btw

Good to hear from you again mate....

Yeah, as Ryan said.... definitely not Gold 10's on a red car. A dark metallic grey / charcoal centre would look best. Black would be too dark.... and matching them to the body colour is too 80's.

But hey..... if you really cant decide...... prep all 4 wheels, paint the right side 2 gold and the left side 2 charcoal, take photos of both, then drive around on stockies while you decide (or drive around like that if ya want - people will think its 2 different cars  )

You wont know until you try it out..

If i find some pics of both combo's i'll put em up.

My first car was Monza red similar to your signature.

It also had the following monza red features

Contessas (all red, not with a polished edge)
flares
engine
filters
hoses
master cylinders
pipes
and pretty much anything close to the car when it got painted

The guy I bought it off obviously didn't know that masking tape existed!

Anyway, like supercharged850 said, red on red looks 80's, especially when you don't have chrome bits to provide some sort of break. Mine looked ok once I polished the edge and added chrome strips down the side though.

I think any colour wheel except gold would be ok, so long as they are nice and shiny!

oh yeah, my car was black inside, hence the name JAFFA!

Daniel

"My rim job"

Means a whole different thing on the other side of the globe

Anyway, I like gold... It all depends on the car, I think gold wheels suit her :D
