Can anybody provide these measures?

I need them for my Honda VFR800 conversion. I'm getting ready to weld the engine mounts in but I need the measures to square everything up first.

Build a jig. In total we've done built five subframes. Each one of them different.

Building a jig will ensure everything is true.

Yup, I already built the jig and the subframe is welded up.



The subframe is out of the jig now and I need to get the correct angles before I weld the engine mounts in.



This is why the front subframe mounting hole height is important to me.

Maybe if someone has a frame sitting on the ground they could take a quick measure????

I've got a spare one around the back of my place, DO YOU WANT TO COME AROUND AND SEE.

If you like i'll try and take some measurements on the weekend.

VTEC kicks in at 8000rpm! bizarre how it takes up nearly the full mini engine bay, but fits in a motorbike....

I'm pretty sure angle 2 on your picture is actually 90 degrees, but maybe you should put it in your car to line up for doing the engine mounts, so you can make sure nothing else is in the way

Yeah, mine is out of the earlier VFR without the VTEC. They actually run better and don't make as much noise.

Yes, the second pic shows the spring towers (or whatever) at about 90*. Unfortunitly the car is 3 hours away so test fitting and welding the engine mounts is a b*tch. I only had to cut out a 4"x 10" piece out of the right side inner wing to get the subby to fit though.

that's a pain in the butt then!!

what have you done about adapting a differential and 2 driveshafts - given the bike gearbox would only have one output... unless you're going Front Engine / Rear Drive ??

I went and held a spirit level vertically to the crossmember of my cooper, which is sitting basically flat on my front lawn, you're gonna have to use some pythagoras here... maths, ewww

the spirit level is 100mm long, and I had to hold it 5mm away from the crossmember at the top to make the bubble centre- so the crossmember IS leaning back a bit

I have a BMW 2002 rear dif that I will be using. I have a build thread on the site somewhere. I'd have to do a search though.

EDIT- I also added another angle to the drawing above. It looks like the front mounting point is suppose to be 90*.
