there's a swift GTI (well, actually a normal swift with GTI running gear) for sale in my street, owned by a couple of army guys. It's not running, but apparently has funky cams and did a 16second 1/4 in a previous car... I offered them $500 for it, but I dunno if I really want another project in the queue

thoughts?

Sounds like a deal where you would want to ask a lot of questions....how many times has it been down the quarter etc etc

If you just want the engine to reco...then go for it :D

Ohhhh and this one has three nice wheels as well.....

I bought a whole gti for $1400, drove it home (80k's). Was not a bad little car, shame I destroyed it really.

Yes for sale, no DOHC, car not mine, but I was talking to Dennis about calipers just tonight (thanks Morris1100....info provided all dovetailed in with what was already known and re-inforced some gaps...cept for the cut-outs which will be noted now upon disassembly, and another seal kit needs to be bought!!)

Let him give it away. As long as your arse points to the ground you will be presented with opportunities that may not suit your current 'priorities'. It's knowing that you're man enough to know that you're not man enough to do too many things at one time.

the honda went to the crusher a long time ago..... but the disks are here, I may or may not use them... probably not cos those minispares calipers aren't *that* expensive, but I'm still hoping my engineer will let me get away with standard S brakes ;)

heeey... there's nothing wrong with standard mini stuff - if I could adapt an A series gearbox to a tailshaft I would, but I can't, so I won't..... and I love my 10" wheels so I've gotta keep the anchors little - I'll detune the honda for the inspection if I need to :D

Just fit those webers, they'll detune themselves.....
