I went out and bought a Stahlwillie 1/2 spanner as my Sidchromes were too big and clunky. The new spanner is a more slim design and will fit, but it is a minute turn each time as MiniMad said in a previous post.

Well, the progress was good until we stripped one of the nuts... I found a tool i had forgotten i bought my Dad for Father's Day a few years ago... It's a rachet that not only works like a normal socket wrench but if you twist the handle it also rotates the head. So you effectively don't need space to swing it, you just need to be able to get it on the nut and get your hand on the handle.

Anyhow, all the nuts were on and they were being tightened and my mate got a bit carried away. All i hear was "ooops.... crap" and that was the end of that.
