Yeah, I must admit, I am a little suspicious of the turbo itself. . .it has been rebuilt by a guy here in Perth who is supposedly one of the best 'turbo guys' in the country but from what I've seen so far, if he's one of the best, I'd hate to see the worst!!
The first time I got the turbo back from him (bought off the shelf as a newly 'reconditioned' T25), the exhaust housing was full of garnet blasting media from when they have the housings cleaned up. . . .NOT all that professional in my book.

I still tend to think my problem is drain related, though - I've noticed that the car is fine most of the time but will smoke badly (and I mean BADLY) on hard left hand turns. . .when the oil in the drain line is surging towards the compressor.
I think I'll make up a solid copper drain line with just a couple of rubber connectors at each end - should be easier to keep it all 'downhill' that way.

Thanks for all your help.

yeh i think it would be oil drain related to.

heres a pic of mine which is very downhill, i was goin to make it just go straight down and then a 90* bend into the fumpump hole and gcg turbos in sydney recomended that i curve it nicley in as i could possible have oil drain problems if i had any flats or sharp bends

Do you have a flywheel housing breather, and run it to a PCV valve? I find on REAL hard LH turns at high RPM, oil gets sucked up the breather from the drop gears....
My solution on track days is to run to a catch tank, not the PCV.
