Ok... I guess its time for a update...

Few lil problems with the motor...

So here is the story...

Main Crank Bearing Number 3 Spun... Which has turned into shrapnel been sucked up the oil pickups & then destroyed the oil pump..

Which means there wasnt enough oil in the head.. & The Cams have gotten damaged..

All the motor has been ripped apart..

Getting a proper rebuild at MRC Preformance (castlehill) this week.
Mark is Fantastic there.. Takes the time to talk to you. Explains everything..

So I am getting the block Honed.. Crank re-machined & Rods re-sized..

Putting new Gapless rings on the pistons from America.. Cams have been sent to QLD to get fixed & go a profile down.. So lil less power but more Torque down low..

New Oil Pump is getting put in.... I am just lucky no bore damage was done.. Pistons are in top condition still too...

Let you all know more soon!

Dean, sorry to hear all the carnage one bearing has caused you, I hope it all comes together OK.

How long are you expecting to be off the road for?

Dan

Man I hope that either a) the dude that sold you the motor or b) the dude that built the motor is going to get a running kick to the nuts. Let 'em know what it feels like.

I'm pretty sure it was MRC that built the engine in the first place.....
and it was running fine when it was in the starlet.....just one of those things....

hope it doesnt take too long to get running

That's good news Dean, should be a bullet proof item after that. So obviously they still have to reassamble the engine? So how long before she's turning over.

Cheers

Matt

PS. I feel your pain re delays for different reasons but still delays...especially as you had it on the road..
