Vizard reckons a stock Mini flywheel/clutch/backplate assembly is around 28lbs (12.72kg) and the 1300 type is 32 lbs (14.55kg).
So that makes the 1300 flywheel 4lbs (1.83kg) heavier.

I just weighed Cody's old Morris 1100S1300 flywheel (with the big rim weights) it went 8.1kg on my scales. So I reckon the stock Mini one weighs 6.27kg.
I'll dig one out and weigh it tomorrow.

suppose it depends on what kind of flywheel you use as a base line either way they are f king heavy.

let us know what you find with the wieghts.

I think there's definitely a few different 'standard' flywheels. I know in the small bores I've ripped apart I found wheels that were quite obviously not lightened, but I could tell they were different just by feel. I'm guessing that would have to be close to a kg for me to be able to tell. My scales only go to 5kg so not 100% sure.

when you find a flywheel your scales can measure keep it.

from memory there are about 4 different types of flywheels from the std mini production and they vary in a big way.

so stu i was right about the weight hey hey, huh, you thought i was miles out hey. haha

Yep  There just seemd to be a big jump up to the 12.whatever but a little bit here and a little bit there all adds up.

Like I said the other day I've got that 4.something lightened one sitting here but Lyn Rogers reckons maybe not on a big bore (and he made it so I'm listening!).

Thread is the same, if head is too thick though it can foul inside the diaphragm's thrust ring for the throwout bearing.
