When in to a auto parts place on the weekend for a Ramflow filter guy at repco didn't even know what a weber carburettor looks like and had never heard of ramflow filters

Hionk,
It is a Fuel Miser kit, p/no is DE-250.
Mine came from Repco, via Davo (MiniK). 8)

I don't think carburettor knowledge is a prerequisite for working at Repco these days. OTOH I bet intimate knowledge of Bling! products polishes and seat covers is...

Repco here in Fyshwick sell them - they are called "Recarb".

Performance Plus in Queanbeyan have all the gear for the sidedraught DHLA and Webers.

You can go to Ebay as there is a mob in Victoria:

Thanks for you help everyone. I'll ring Repco again tomorrow and tell them to order the Fuel Miser DE-250 for me. See if they can manage that.

Cool, I got the kit from Repco.. Only good thing about Repco is when they order in parts it comes that day, and I now get a staff discount  other then that they're useless.

With that number I quoted before, I found out it was the starter emulsion tube (not the aux venturi). What Starter emulsion tube should I be using? Or is it not important?

Keep the starter ones you have, they'll work OK. Likewise the ex-Alfa `55' idle jets.

Apart from air corrector (~180) and fuel (~140 or 145) jets the only MUST have is the 7772.5 or 7772.6 emulsion tubes.
Toss the Alfa 7772.10 ones- they will NOT work.

If you need to buy some, the 7772.5 are NLA new.

I had a chat to the guys a Carburettor Service Co. in Burwood today. Apparently these are available new, but they're not an original dellorto part. Someone else is manufacturing them. The genuine dellorto emulsion tubes have the whole number on them (eg 7772.5) whereas the non genuine ones just have .5

Not that there is anything wrong with the non genuine parts. Just thought I would share that interesting fact.

Ok dellorto has been rebuilt and jetted.. I used .5's for the emulsion tubes.. (not cheap).

Only thing I'm unsure of is setting the float level correctly. A peice of paper came with the rebuild kit, which was next to useless. It had a picture of a dellorto but no labels or instructions or anything.
It says this however:

Float......|....... A
7298.1 | 14.5 ? 15
7298.2 | 16.5 ? 17

Can anyone tell me what measurements they would be in? And where exactly I measure it? I'm guessing from each float to the gasket.

Alex,
There is a pic on the bit of paper...
With float bowl lid & gasket vertical, and float hanging, it should measure 15mm from top of float to gasket with the float arm just touching the needle.

Also, with bowl lid held normally (gasket horizontal) and float hanging fully there should be 25mm from top of float to gasket. This is called the full droop setting. Adjust by bending the little lug on the float arm.

Thanks very much again doc! (and everone else that helped me here). The diagram on the paper didn't have any measurements or anything.. just a pic of the floats and an arrow from them to the gasket. But it's all sorted now, hopefully she'll run properly :D
