I'd like to overhaul the mechinics of my 1100 and i have no skills myself or knowledge so;
Could someone give me an idea of the parts i need for a rebuild and a rough cost and best spot to buy.
i don't really want to change the way it runs except to maybe to make it so it doesn't have to work so hard at 100km/h, i do a fair bit of high way work. plus unleaded conversion.
i know this proably isnt enough info, so suggest other things i should be thinking about
thanks heaps
Josh

i would first have it checked out.

compression/leakdown test, before you start rebuilding

if it ain' broken don't fix it!

Maybe all it needs is a proper setup (preferably rolling road) ; Or a set of new seats/guides and maybe valves if the bores are still ok.

If you are going to take it to someone to rebuild, don't buy the parts yourself as the engine builder will be able to buy the parts at trade prices. Also there's the part about not having to replace parts that do not need replacing and you won't know this until you pull the engine apart and have a squiz.

Alternative to this is to build it yourself with help...

well its starting to blow smoke and the oil pressure sucks, so i thought it was time to freshen it up. but if i don't need a complete rebuild i would be happy i just need to take it somewhere where someone knows what there doing noone around here is interested in working on it for me!
