Matt,

Good to see the problems are getting sorted and generally at negligible cost.

Can't wait to see it all sorted and running.

Dan

Well guys reasonable news. The camber is a bit better certainly good enough not to raise the ire of the engineer or the rego guys. And Brad, yeah the Pedders guy said if I want to solve it fully I need adjustable bottom arms. Anybody know what the deal is rego/ADR on bottom arms or a recommendation on legal ones. Also Brad found the lo/hi boost switch. Now she really goes. But like I said I can't imaging what another 60 hp must be like. Also she sits at just under halfway on the temp guage so barring any more weirdness I think I finally good to go with the engineering test...Hoo effing ray...

Also Brad you might be interested to know that if I fill the tanks up to much the bosch pumps so hard that the return fills up the right tank and she starts coming out the vent pipe. My balance pipe obviously needs to be greater in diameter. It works when she half full but above that it just doesn't balance quickly enough. Still an after rego thing.

Cheers

Matt

Did the car have the neg camber problem after the first wheel alignment or has it developed while you have been driving, since you are havinr the car engineered have a talk to the engineer about adjustable lower arms, they will need to be engineered to be legal

Yeah....or fixed lower arms maybe  (remember Barrie has a set you could maybe try to see if they are the right dimensions for your set up..then again...adjustable removes all the guesswork)

Matt...I wouldn't be too concerned about overheating at this early stage...hell the donk has been sitting around for ages and its natural for them to crave a few long runs to get the cobwebs out and settle down :D

With your record and petrol....I wouldn't leave the balance pipe thing too long  maybe you could even run a parallel pipe through a couple of Y pieces to see what that does  or an adapter to a larger pipe (larger diam equals lower speed of flow...but thats what it might need)

also, do you have a regulator after the pumps :?: I'm not saying it needs one but you need to check what pressure they are putting through the lines sooner or later

Feralsprint that the weird thing when I put the suspension in before getting it aligned the first time the camber was 0 ie dead vertical. And this was having driven a fair amount of times. It was only after the wheel alignment that the camber has been funny. Anyway its good enough to get through engineering and rego.

Also Mick, the heating thing is becoming less and less of a problem. I drove it three times today and she isn't going past half. So yeah I think you're right a bit of fanging to clear the cobwebs. As for the fuel, there is the standard 1:1 regulator at the end of the fuel rail which controls pressure. At this stage I have no idea what its putting out pressure wise? Yeah the balance tube will be the first thing I deal with after rego.

Ran like a dream today though. So I am alot more cheery, also the four pot metro brakes are really starting to hit their straps no worries in the braking deparment, bring on the engineering test.

Cheers

Matt

Glad its all coming together for you and I hope the engineer is happy as I am sure he will be, something has definitly moved to make that much change, would suggest a close inspection of the lower inner mounting on the lower arm as its about the only thing can move that much or check the subframe for signs of collapse

Matt,

Good to see.

After all this time and effort its good to know that the remaining problems are all minor and not mission critical.

Bring on the engineers I say, let them be amazed!! (and then bring on the dancing girls!)

Good Luck with you ginger beer (Engineer)

Cheers,
Andy
