No, i have a 10" davies craig (I think???), and the grill did not get cut. It squeezed into the shroud (Needed to be bent out a couple of mm, so it does not need bolts either, but seeing as mine is a LS Clubman, im not sure how the shrouds, grill sizes etc... change from vehicle to vehicle.

Benjamin

Where did you get your fan & switch from and what are the details. Did it cost much?

Cheers

Rick

rick, the fan and switch were bought of ebay, the seller has another 9'' one on at the moment

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/THERMO-FAN-9-NEW ... dZViewItem

the 9'' thermo fan fits pefectly in between the radiator and shroud with no cutting at all :) . I secured the thermo to the radiator just by using some tie wire through the fins and it holds it really tight.

thats all iv really done so far i left the origianl fan on aswell but i may take it off later on depending on how well the thermo fan works.

Hey Ben - great job on the rad I must say.

I am going down the path as well but can I offer a small pointer - the wires on your fan need to point down as water will get into the motor. If you are too far gone with the installation, whack a gob of sealant on it and push it right into that rubber boot thingy where the wires come out of the lekky motor.

I learnt this through bitter experience - a bike i had where the water trickled down the wires of the fan and into the motor - fried my electrics.

Looks great though - I will get some piccies up of mine shortly

This radiator is a 1300 rad and the fan is a 10 inch(JUST!!! fits in the hole let me tell you.

I went to Autopro in Tuggeranong and asked about the bolts for the fan(the ones supplied would have fouled the core tubes). Was shown some plastic ones(4 of) and were perfect. The fellow there said he installed them to hold 2 x 16 inch thermos 10 years ago and are still there - the car was a very large big block chev thingy. I am sure they will hold the one on the mini rad...lol

Ben - again looking good and bet you cant wait to have it all done. Good luck
