my gf likes minis but doesnt like driving manual and lets face it the A series isnt the kindest of engines sometimes so i was thinking or wondering if anyone had put a little auto in non a series you know like a little dihatsu or something small auto reliable cheap easy to drive quit

Can be done. It would depend on the gear selector location that would really judge if it were easier or harder then doing a spick box conversion.

I was toying with the idea of sourcing an auto box for the starlet conversion.

yeah ??? i just think theres something cool about auto minis maybe because i think of autos as usually being big cars not little minis

i reckon if you could come up with a cheap conversion to mass produce with an auto twin cam 16 V EFI the ladies would be in ques

serioulsly i know lots of younger girls who love them but dont like the noise, feel and reliability factor of the mini but love the looks

I can't see why a Mini with a standard 4EFE auto Starlet engine can't be a great car!

the 4efe motor i had a few years ago came as an auto, the gearbox was massive it was as long as the motor and twice as wide there was no way it was going to fit.

best looking at one of the 650cc motors in an auto im sure the ladies are more worried about looks then power

My wife has asked for the same on her morris minor ,it may be a bit easir but there still isnt much room under the morry

they just got no idea :) to own and run a mini you cant just think "oh that's cute!" and be happy with it...you have to LOVE it in order to put up with all the crap it throws at you :P

i can see this being popular with the ladies too...the auto idea that is...

but hey...what's a mini if you dont have to go rummaging around in the gearbox at the lights looking for first??? :)

Found me a slush box the 4efte, going around to have a sticky beek. $70. Not bad if you ask me. I'll post a pic, see if it's any bigger than the spick box.

my 4efe box is still at a mates house. you will get to see how massive it is
