Someting I hadn't really thought to much about was the weight, I was speaking with a guy yesterday who told me his car weighs 70 kilo's more with the Honda engine than it did with the A series  thats a fair chunk to move of the line

When that issue was raised in the past all the experts here said that the weight wouldn't rise. So much for experts.

well my conversion pushed my mini weight from 700kg to 740kg, not to bad considering that the brakes, wheels, seats tanks ect all add weight, not just the bigger motor putting out 6 TIMES the Hp, but hey im no expert :D

Is the ba16 a 1.6 L ..? Dont forget that there is a weight restriction when engineering an engine conversion. ORIGIONAL weight of car X 3 (if non turbo) and X 2.5 (if turbo) this will give you the max amout of cc the new engine can be

Yes B16A is 1.6 B18 1.8 etc..

You can run up to a 1.6 Turbo in a mini, or 2L NA...

Someone could buy this and turbo it. I'd keep it NA though and work it a bit 8)

I'm pretty sure in NSW we go of the weight of the car when engineered. So if you can make your car ~780Kg you can run a 2L turbo..could be wrong though, but that's the way i thought it was

the 4efte only weighs about 140kg...which is less than the a-series...alloy everything helps (cast iron block ofcourse...but everything else is lighter alloy)...the a-series is just a blob of iron basically :P not one of the lighter metals :P
