Okay so:

1. Which is easier to do?
2. Which is cheaper?
3. What is the "approx" price of each conversion, engineered?
4. Which is "better" to do - power, time, cost, etc.
5. Do they both fit without any knowledge of one being in there from the outside. (twincammini had box section near his bumper?)

*thinking thinking... deluxe*

clubman or roundie?
if its roundie (as mine) :

1) g13b
2) g13b (probably...depends on what part of the conversion you are talking about)
3) i am aiming for about $10,000 excluding any body work or paint
4) 4efte (its turbo...nuff said) its a generally stronger motor and has alot more room to move in terms of power output...it is however harder to do...but i personally feel it is well worth the trouble given the potential gains...thats why i chose to GT my mini :)
5) yes they both fit...you need to get a bit creative with some aspects of the conversion but they do fit without body modification...except a bonnet scoop if you retain the 4efte's original IC location...

clubman:

1) both are about the same but the g13b is a simpler setup given you dont have a turbo
2) see above
3) see above
4) see above
5) easy...no external body mods required...bonnet scoop for the 4efte if you keep the IC top mounted...

Yep... like the radiator?
Does the radiator HAVE to go in the boot of a roundyif you go the 4E route?

Anything else?

i am not going to have mine in the boot...turbo location can be a problem too...i have a few ideas as to where i might put them...prolly will go GB mounted turbo like minimetoy's done...and as for radiator...well...i'll just have to wait n see whats the best place for it...if you stick with an efficient dual core radiator then you dont need a massive radiator to keep the heat down...i am going to try for a front mounted one...but as i said...i'll just have to cross that bridge when i come to it :P

Heath's setup is very neat - the Toyota mota is a bit more of a squeeze

That said, he intends adding a turbo later!

your pretty much stuck with the G13B in a roundy, there are those attempting to put a 4EFTE into a roundy, and some a quite close, but I wouldn't hold your breath until you see one on the road...

grrr :x ...disbeliever! BE GONE!
it'll happen...for sure! if dean's works (and it does...he's got the vid to prove it) then there really are no problems with fitting it all in a roundie...its just a tighter fit...

worst case: radiator goes in the boot and everything else stays the same...EASY!

and when does it become too tight a fit?, you can't compare putting a 4EFTE into a clubby like deans, (yes i've seen the video, i filmed it) look at how many are in clubby's...13secmini, minstar's will be on the road soon, Baracade, the gold one on eBay..just cause they fit in a clubby does not mean they will fit in a round nose, your losing valuable inches between the two.

Yes anything is possible, but i reckon it'll be too big a PITA to work with, it's bad enough with an A-series in a roundie.

But go for your life, i'd love to see one on the road...

I wouldn't be calling anything about a conversion "EASY"

its just a matter of time :)

and i never had any troubles working on my 998...HEAPS of room in there...i got alot more skinned knuckles and cuts from removing some of the stupidly placed stuff on the 4efte than i did disassembling my mini...

I'm aware of both of these projects, and until they are running on the road they don't count :P

The black one looks like it has had firewall mods done though, that engine sits a fair distance back if you compare it to the engine placement in running cars..
