Impressive. Looks like there is limited amount of subframe work required for this conversion compared to other conversions.

Keep up the great work.

that's what I was thinking... that and that the MM in the background looks just like my dad's tourer, then I realised it's a 4 door... and I think it's a series 2 anyway

Do you have to do any modifications to the mini bonnet to fit it :?: the engine looks kinda tall

No it sits around the same as the "a series" .This motor sits as deep as the starlet one I did and that fitted in a round nose with around 1cm at the front and 2cm at inlet

Cool, good work.

I wasn't sure  The sirion certainly looks the goods if you want a less complicated / full on conversion.

What do you have to do regarding brakes ? Are you allowed to keep the mini drums ?

Ive got cooper s disc brakes for the front and spacer drums for the back

even though the weight of the car has dropped I dont trust drums

and the sirion came with disc so i think the mini has to also (not to sure on this) :?

Here is pics of my conversion we put the motor in the first time today. There is way more room on this compared to the 4efe i did last year(03). Next is the front and rear engine mounts and front mounting the alternator.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

With all the weight of the motor on the drivers side shoudn't you counter balance the rest of the car so that when you go round corners it doesn't have a bias......... or does the transmision not hold that much of a bias I mean it looks good and all but if you have all the weight of the engine on one side (drivers side that is) shouldn't you counter balance it on the other side????????? Anyone agree with me or is this a one horse race????

Pat

Pat I think it is a one horse race. I think the 4efte is probably more biased than the K3-VE given how compact it is. Being alot lighter than the A series the bias is hardly noticable. Plus I have my fat grandmother on standby to sit in the back on the passenger side

Also SK is that the gearbox lever on the front? If so howzat work?

your right there ministar thats the furthest i can get the gearbox to go on that side ,before you start to wipe out the suspension towers , one of the reasons i picked this motor is because the size is more central than the larger capacity motors

the lever at the front is the clutch unfortunatly its cable im playing with that at the moment, thinking of a way to get a slave cyl behind it to push it

the two things different to the starlet is the clutch (cable) and the gearbox linkage is Rod not cable (cable on the starlet was easy just a bit of cut and weld to clear the suspension tower)

Is there a reason you didn't go with the 1.3?

are those bore/stroke calculations wrong?

71x81 is only 10cc's smaller than the 1.3... :?
