Help please!!!
Need some ideas on modifiying the clutch pedal to take a cable. The cable will come through were the cylinder was previously and hook onto the pedal. Ive been told i have to get the ratio correct or i with keep breaking cable ,from memory the city pedal was( ive lost it!!) quite long (100mm from piviot to end).
Any ideas?

or it might be easier to mount a slave cylinder on the gearbox and keep it hydraulic?
HOw much does the mini slave cylinder move from engaged to disengaged , i might be able to use the standard mini slave cylinder???
Whats the pro's and con's ?

Thanks

I am converting mine to subaru cable (pics tomorrow).
You must have the right ratio:
- too small: won't disengage clutch
- too big: clutch will be heavy, & you may break the cable

I am a fan of trial & error engineering

my engine uses hydro clutch so i dont know to much about the cable setups, but most the suzuki gti guys convert there cable to hydro using the mini slave cylinder with custom mounts.

yeah, if you want to keep the standard injection manifold, you can tilt the motor forward more than this guy has, but in this case, there's this silly bloody flange thingy hanging off the back of the gearbox which stops you tilting it ....

My twin webers ought to fit nicely without crossmember mods

Thanks guys
I was going to go hydro , but with seeing the one skssgn going to use if changed my mind.
I went out today and got a city pedal and have made brackets but not yet finished , ill post a pic tomorrow. It was scary how simaliar the city pedal was to the mini one.
The ratio is measured from the centre of the pivoit to were the cable goes on is that right?

I haven't seen where it might be possible to mount a slave cylinder on this set up. But after thinking about doing a cable set up and seeing the pics here I would definately try my best to go hydro. I have a Suzuki engine/gearbox in my Mini and it took me about 2 hours to convert mine from cable to hydro and have the bugs worked out. I used the Mini slave and a custom bracket.

Thanks for the info ,ive completed the conversion today all went well just have to get a new inner cable made up 50mm longer than std city cable.
I had a look at going hydro but the slave cylinder was really to low in the front, as it turned out it was pretty straight foward.
