latest pic, had to wash and polish it today, covered in heaps of little sap droplets, and rust spots all over it, probably bits of metal from the grinder, and it sbeen raining heaps lately so , but yeah, got it running last sunday, turbo leaked oil out the exhaust like no tomorow, got another 2nd hand turbo and it leaked even more oil! , and yeah everything is hooked up right, oil is flowing into the sump properly.. bad run of turbos, well my original one was siting for a while, done even know where it came from, got it for nothing anyway...

so yeha, im on the lookout for another t25, once i find a good one, its off the exhaust shop for the dump pipe and then its all fun and games from there on.. cant wait

mate most t25's run a oil restrictor on the ioil nlet....the t25g has one inbuilt. WIth out it you will have to much oil pressure into the turbo and it will pass the seals and create smoke. Get an oil restricter for it, or some guys just crimp the inlet hose to stem the flow to see if thats the problem.

turbo may still be stuffed, but id try a restrictor just to be safe. Yeh put it inline on the oil hose going into the turbo. Some of the starlet guys put a copper hose inline and crimp it to half size and seems to work too

I would try some nissan forums also, there should be some info on there. If not just ask them what turbos need it and dont, i know my T25g dosnt.

998_Clubman where abouts on the sump did you mount the oil return? And where did you run the oil from? Any pics?
Cheers
Daniel

If youre turbo is stuffed I would replace it with a bigger frame turbo like a T28 from a S15 essentialy the same as a T25G but with a lot larger compressor and bb cartridge or a T3 flanged Rb25 turbo from a R33 skyline.
The T25 from the Ca18 are shithouse for top end flow and will restrict your overall power output

gilly fair enough on a 2L engine, but on these 1.3L engines they are fine. Spool up fast and will hold enough boost for 250hp. (plenty for a mini)

T28 of s15 is also great but 4 times the price of a t25g, may aswell go for a gt25r 300hp model. there $1200 new now.

T3 of rb25 would require new manifold flange and your pretty restricted to what turbo you can use.

hey umm the oil feed is from the OPS, just used a t peice there, and the return for the turbo just runs in about 1inch from the lip of the sump..

i had a look on nissansilvia about which turbos need what,(oil restrictors) and couldnt really find much, some were saying you dont need them, some saying you do, but im not to sure what i need now..

the return hose is dead flat with the turbo aswell, which may be a problem for flow id imagine.. comes out the base of the turbo with a right angle fitting striaght into the sump.. the hose is dead horizontal.. somthings telling me the guy that built the engine is a bit of a halfwitt... :?

I don't think you need the plates any more.

Nothing says BEWARE any more than a stonking great FMIC hanging off the front 8)

Aren't you worried some jerk is going to put his boot through it, "just coz it's there"?. God knows there are plenty of a-holes around these days that would do it.

I'd be keeping a UB handy...
