Yes. Manufacturers make them in 2 styles:
- plain stainless braid outside (looks great in a show car)
- stainless braid covered by clear plastic tube (keeps the dirt out of the braid)

In a road car, I'd go for the latter :)

Where do you get the correct flairing tool from. They need both single and double flairs....

Don't re-use the old pipe fittings, any brake shop can sell you new ones. They are copper plated to delay the rust monster.. 8)

I replaced all my rigid brake lines. I collected the female fittings that were in good condition from some old pipes and had them bright zinc silver plated ( these fittings in my opinion are better than the brass one available today ). New male fittings are readily available from brake specialist repair shops ( generally cheaper than hydraulic shops ) I measured each pipe with a dressmakers ribbon tape and my local brake shop double flared and ball flared, where applicable, a straight pice of bundy tube to my lengths. I have found you don't need a special bending tool for this 3/16 inch pipe. I have used dowel, plastic plumbers pipe and even an old milk bottle to achieve original factory appearing tubes. For my Deluxe most of the bends were bent around the stepped flange end of an old VH-44 hydraulic chamber that was clamped in a vice! The hard pipe I found to replace was the main line from the front tee to the rear pressure restricter as it is normally fitted before the subframes. I did this in 3 pieces, front with a join at the front bulkhead about 5 inches above the floor. The rear I fitted by swinging the verticle part of the pipe down through 90 degrees and making the final lower 90 degree round bend around a split piece of large wooden dowel. A length of pipe was bent up at the front to match the angle of the bulkhead and with a union joined to the new front pipe. The rear of this pipe I marked where the nipple fitting needed to be to connect to the rear joiner. The pipe was removed and the brake specialist flared the end to my marked length. Pipes refitted and Bobs your uncle. The beauty of this steel bundy tube is it is ok for tweeking into the correct positions and angles on final fitment. I would first practise by making a new clutch master cylinder supply line and a brake master cylinder to tee junction as these are accessible and small ones to stuff up.

don't use copper tubing unless you want to redo them all again.... there illegal. Use steal tube. should actually cost less anyway.

That is copper coated steel tube, referred to as "bundy" tube. Good stuff :)

If in doubt, whack a magnet on it
