Have catalog.. and good memory (sometimes).

Haven't replaced any of the 35 yr old hydro bags yet, they are obviously more durable than those crap rubber cones used on lesser Minis... 8)

You could try jap wreckers for the H4s. The old lunch-box looking Pajeros had H4s, and i paid $40 for the pair that we put in the mustang... :D

Also try 90's GQ Patrol, they have a sealed beam halogen.
VW Golf? apparently the old 7", but again, halogen.
Go the Pajero. they have a good wide beam, and a good high beam too. Eddy Wreckers, south road in SA (Opposite Brickworx) have a few pairs about.

Our bestest buddy Steve@Brickworx got me my IPF H4s in the LS out of a Rover front cut. Some of these front cuts have some very fancy lights in them. Talk to the man.

i noticed taking a turn at fairly high speed (well given my bald rear tyres, underpressurized suspension and near lack of brakes) that the body rolls very very little. surprised me somewhat, compared to other cars i've owned/driven
mark 3 supra drift car with coilovers, mazda familia awd turbo (my favourite car to date, i miss it so :(), girlfriends swift gti...

need more hours in a day damnit.

heh, i can't remember what i was meaning to say in that last post...
this thread came up when i searched for an upgraded alternator, as it seems by the time i've added a head unit and speakers, alarm, central locking, h4's + relays... well, i don't think it's quite on par with standard requirements of a 25amp alternator :/

i must say, given that it's baby vomit yellow, has some rust, is 32 years old, is fwd, nonturbo, really quite slow (well it's not 0-100 in 6 flat, that's for damn sure), i've definitely got an unhealthy obsession for it.

With lights, a cheap price generally gets cheap results. Stick with the big brands. Want a cheap set of H4's? go to a Fiat or Alfa wrecker and get a set from them. We put a set from an Alfa in an early Holden which takes the exact same beam unit as a mini. Just make sure water has not affected the reflector.

Chong, just remember that Josh melted holes in his cheapo H4s with 100W bulbs in.
As said you get what you pay for. Good (new) lights cost good money.

kev those lights josh melted are the angle eyes like mine and they come with a warning not to put a bigger glober then 75w in there, 100w melted them.

The supercheap ones i got in barbi didnt have a warning and i think i put 100w in there and have not had any problems yet :D

Granted, cheap H4's will not be as good as Hella's etc. But ANYTHING is better than Lucas sealed beams right??
