Sorry I know lots of people have had similar problems, I did a search but couldn't really find anything. I'im having problems with the N12 pulsar dizzy conversion. I've done everything, and put it in. But first when I tried starting the car, it sounded like the battery was almost dead(which it wasn't), and turned over really slowly and there were 2 explosions. So I realised I probably have it on exhaust stroke, so I took the pin out and turned it around 180degrees. It sounds a bit more normal now but it's backfiring and not actually kicking over. I'm pretty sure it's on the proper stroke but I just can't get it to start. Could it be my timing?

Thanks people

Bet it's retarded 20 degrees. Turn it anti-clockwise a bit at a time. Or put a timing light on, if you have the crank pulley marks.
