Probably none, if done with welds that penetrate properly.
Some people in UK used to put a strip of sheet metal inside, then run plenty of heat to let the MIG weld penetrate into it.

But if the butt welds are cocky crap, I'd rather trust the original seams..

De-seaming usually looks no good on a mini. I couldnt imagine trying to replace a panel on a de-seamed mini... would be mighty hard.

I dont know if I like it or not?

Its clean and smooth and it looks nice.. but it just looks funny. its just.. wrong I think.

I was looking at my mini thinking that it would look nice without the seem because they are kinda out there, but.. no, I'm not sold, I think, maybe...

Butt welds? Hmm, I wouldn't trust anyone to get the same strength back into the shell. but you'd know better than me, Dr Mini. And without destructive testing, I guess it would be hard to tell.

Seems (aha ha ha) like a lot of work to me, although they're faster, aren't they? Someone told me there's ten square feet of frontal area in the seams. I like the "fat roundy arse" of a deseamed mini but standard's good enough for me.
