Karen Buggered her back last week, so my last 7 days have been a total write off ......

Its going to be close, but i should have it fired by sunday.... maybe even with some "Secret weapons" ready.....

Might still make it to the Dyno day...... maybe

Well, Suprise, Suprise, Suprise !!
It RUNS !!

DRMINI, MINI-Mad and 13Secmin (Kev, Josh and Brad) Dropped in this afternoon and helped me start it....

i Had the timing out to crap, the battery is stuffed, and now it seems that my starter may have crap itself, but the bloody thing runs !!

Now, for some odd reason, it is running really, really rich... (Black smoke and lugging) but it runs without any horrible metallic crashing noise that i was half expecting....(Valves into block.. you know..)

Gafmo,I Ran 72.9 at the last Dyno day, since then I've added the Nissan Dizzy, the 12G1316 head (DRMINI Special) the Bigger Turbo (IHI RHF-5) and some other stuff.... hoping for an extra 20HP at the top end .......

If this thing makes 100HP@Wheels, there will be champagne corks popping I can tell you ! (that equates to about 120+@Flywheel!) - FOR A FREAKING 998 !

Lets see what happens if i can get this thing running nice at get it to the Dyno cell.... i may even trailer it. . . Just in case. . . . .

J

Makka, the smoke is Black.... failed oil seals are a nice BLUE/WHITE Smoke.... (A Certain V8 did it once..... made like James Bond that did !)

Will play some more during the week / next weekend.. but with Cessnock coming up, it'll be tight....

Starting with the stock boost of 7-8psi, and upping it until it just starts to detonate (With er RHB-4 and 202 head that was around 16PSI)

My best guess will be around 14-15 Psi, which with the improved flow, should be good for around 150@Crank HP - it just means the other support systems have to be able to match that to make that power... I Dont think they can.

I'm thinking the Dizzy will be the weak point, too much advance, as well as the intake pipe being too restrictive... If i can get another made up in 2" I'll whack that on and see if there is any difference....

Thanks Guys
J

James if the Pulsar dizzy has too much centrifugal advance that will just give retard at low revs. As long asyou timed it at max power point, not idle..... :P
If you want more advance down low, just weld the stop in the dizzy and file it to suit.
