I want to get this block (just a bare block from brick worx and it has no plugs) well my question is how much to get the plugs? how much to fit them? or could I do it myself? how much is a rebore 40thou and pistons? I am wanting to do this over a year or two so I will save then spend then save then spend and so on till I have a good engine. Then I'll spend some money on a good gearbox.

also another question is..... Is it better to get a case and get some straight cut gears and everything for the box or just buy a built box?

So many questions so little money..... Oh well looks like I'll have to save more. So what do people think of my stratergy???

It's the main bearing caps it doesn't have. You can get new steel ones made by Russell Eng (for probably $400+) or buy some 4 bolt ones off MiniMania in US.
Any caps (other than the block's originals) are not a bolt in proposition. You will have to get the main bearing tunnels line bored. $200 (guess).

So far, it's not a cheap block, is it.

A set of Hypatec +.020", .040" or .060" pistons & rings is about $250. A rebore is $100-150 on top of that.

I'd forget straight cut close ratio gears for the street, but that's just me..
