The pre-engaged type off a Gemini doesn't need the ring gear changed either. It easily spins the engine over a good 100 - 200rpm faster than the Lucas.
I have heard this before, but My car has some bodgy Honda Dizzy and apparantly the gemini starter won't fit next to it!! My mate rebuilds Standard Mini Dizzy's to have electronic ignition, so either my dizzy or starter goes I'll get that then I can fit the geMINI starter motor!!

What year Flemini? I got to get me one of these suckers.....plus a Pulsar 75A alternator.

Do you ditch the Mini solenoid with a Flemini starter?

The starter from a gemini should be from a te or tf model (up to 1983). Rear whell drive petrol. You can get them new for $150 from repco (trade), so don't pay too much from a wrecker. I got one from a wrecker for the GEmini and paid $50, it only lasted 6 months.

Heritage MG had pre engaged to suit the mini for 160ish, and sent it same day.

Cheers

I just got the starter motor, and heritage mg have included fitting instructions and everything.!!!!

I'll get them typed out and posted here soon!!

Edit: Actually, I better not in case there's a problem. I'll do the installl first and see how it all goes. If anyone wants them, pm me.
