I originally checked all the way through MINI2.com but could not find any fixable fault for the fuel guage.
After 5 months the mechs finally found the fault after changing the tank sensor 2 times, instument cluster & software with no success.
The problem was that the computer kept saying that the left hand side fuel tank sensor / carrier was faulty........it wasnt, it was the right hand side sensor that was stuffed....DOH!
Ive looked into the 3 year warranty on the car too and if it does expire it wont make much differance, as it is just another insurance policy for the car that covers mechanical repairs.
I can get an Insurance broker to renew this for me if BMW does not want to do it.
(you can allso get this for the older mini's too.The car just has to be worth more that 3k)
As for the gear box ill just take it easy on her untill the next service, its more annoying than anything and not a real problem.
