Downside of forged ones is you need to run more clearance, as they expand more due to the alloy used.
And, they do wear out faster.
I had forged Mahle flat tops in the last 1310 motor. One day at Wakefield Pk one got just a little hot, and seized...
But, I still drove it 120 miles to home... with `single cylinder piston slap'...
I'm now running Hypatec cast ones. Good copy of a Hepolite 21253 type cast piston, but stronger.
