Mine'd never get that high.
It breaks down at about 5750 rpm... but i'm thinking this is due to point bounce.
Could be valve bounce but dno yet till i get this freaking electronic ignition fitted... kit arrives Wednesday.

8000rpm for my 1100... even if it did go that high, i think it'd break something well before that :shock:

You'd think it would, but amazingly they don't 8)

Mine went off the 8k rpm tacho once when the throttle spring snapped and gave me WOT..

Motor used to see 7.5k regularly..now I limit it to 5.5-6max..she's getting tired...8years of abuse has had it's toll :( Going particularly well in this cold weather though 8)

Yeah mine starts first time every time.
Never used choke to start it either.

Valve guides are probably worn... but beggars cant be choosers :twisted: :)
