the colour is a blue/green colour instead of the brown sludgy stuff they call petrol, my car runs on a mix of av and 98 as its good for the motor (leaded fuel) and runs heaps better and if i ever get pulled over i will tell them i was racing on the weekend and it must have been left over in the tank.so bugger off and go catch some real criminals.

you need to retard your timing a fraction as av gas burns quicker and runs cooler also stops pinging/knocking and heaps of other fuel related problems that have only come about since the introduction of unleaded fuel/sludge.

Its laready over $1.32 a litre here as it was upto $1.35 and thats just cheopo 91.
98 is $1.41.9 a litre here arent you guys lucky, av is $1.55 from the airport and $1.90 from the track luck i have an airport behind my house and on they way to anywhere i full up my jerry cans and off i go.come to think about it its closer than any of the 8 or 9 garages in my area.

Avgas is approaching a $1.80 a litre at the airport, in NSw you can't buy it unless you have a leaded fuel passbook, which you cam only get if you have a historically plated vechicle. Back in the late 1980's we had 12, 44 gallon drums (200 litres) at my Dads place for a boat to run on, did'nt Dad's ole 68 Valiant ute run well on it.

There are probably still some places around that have it. My local BP only got rid of it ~6 weeks or so ago!

Given that Avgas and pump petrol are all refined from the same crude when crude goes up (like it did yesterday to $61 US a barrel), then they will both go up. But this isn't all of the story, Australia is actually not as heavily reliant on imported crude (Bass Strait etc) as many other countries so alot of the hike is the petrol companies trying to make an extra buck, oh and Johnny and his excise of course  ..

I think you will find the excise is fixed at $0.35/L? now. Little Johnny got rid of the previous government's indexation of this tax. One of the few things he got right, I guess.
So, all the cream now goes to the oil companies, and the arabs of course.

the power loss aingt to bad considering the price of lpg compared to petrol....

new BA falocn...petrol 180kw, LPG 150kw...

the price of lpg would pay off the price of the installation in 2 years easy!!!

turbo LPG is becoming very popular with modifiers now!

In 2 years LPG will might be the same price as petrol is currently, therefore offsetting your gain..

God bless the RAN - the frigates carry around 235cz's(235 tons) of AVCAT for the helicopters. Very potent stuff and burns furiously(trust me there!!). The USN has JP-5(AVCAT) which we use and then there is the JP-10 - this stuff is 25 percent denser than JP-5 and burns even more furiously. The only aircraft capable of burning this was the SR-71 blackbird spyplane whose total SHP outstripped a US destroyer(163,000shp). Put this stuff in the the old brick and you will put it into orbit and a goddamn big explosion...lol. Very cold to the touch and will burst into flames just looking sideways at it. Both were crystal clear but both had a bittering agent in them to stop people getting too freaked out when we refuel.

Back in the older days some AVCAT "spirited"itself into quite a few vehicles not to mention the super clean F-44 deisel we use to put through the gas turbines. The stuff was so pure it had the look of a glass of water and was fantastic in a 4WD vehicle. Spoilt we were then...

Unless you have a military credit account and lots of moolah, the JP-10 will not be available to us mere mortals(more expensive than the most expensive single malt scotch on the planet per litre!!). This is reserved for those fast jet jockeys flying the top notch jet hardware. NASA still run a couple of the blackbirds so if you can get close enough to one(doubtful), the plane actually "leaks" fuel from every orifice due to the construction and the plane"self seals" when it gets up and flying(temp causes the airframe to expand therefore sealing the fuel tanks).

The only other way is to get a long range turbojet powered missile and drain the fuel from it(denser JP-10 gives them another 20 percent range). What you do with the 500lbs of RDX explosives is up to you(do a Mythbusters and blow up a cement truck!!)
