Hi All. I’ve been running’s a new wiring loom to my ‘66 Delux and managed to get most of the core functions sorted. One thing I can’t quite work out is where to locate the two headlight relays. I’ve attached a picture of the most obvious location but I’ve found it a bit difficult to find any examples of other neat installations. I’d also value information on the horn positioning if possible. Thanks so much.

That would be the natural location, I was able to keep mine inside the car which made it easier. Perhaps you could sneak them up under the bonnet slam panel, its quite roomy in there and your relays are small.

Great, thanks Sooper. Would you happen to have any pictures of the horn mounted to the front grill. The original Mk1 position?

This is the position of the horn on the slam panel on my 1970 S. It's mounted with an L shaped bracket.

My bay is a little congested, but there you are.

That’s wonderful thanks so much. I seem to have a different mounting point. I have two small studs that project from the front grill into the engine bay and I had thought this is where the Horn was mounted. All of the pictures you have shown seem to be mounted to the top surface. I’ve attached a picture to provide a better explanation.

My car had a relay in the red circled spot. As this is close to the headlights it should be pretty straightforward to splice into the existing headlight wiring to connect to the relay, with an extra supply wire from the fuse box.

OK, then you need a flat bracket like below.

You might find your horn bracket on the front subframe

Marvellous. Thank you all. I should probably create a new post of the total build but it is slow going and will likely be a 4 year project.
