I’m using a Maniflow Freeflow manifold and twin box RC40. I haven’t tried any other combinations

For the carb I’ve tried twin HS2 and Dellorto DHLA40. My experience is the Dellorto makes more power, I’ve been using a Warneford/Redline manifold and Ramflo filter and you can squeeze it in without bulkhead modifications

Engine is an 1100 bored 080 over, RE266SS cam, GR big valve 202 head

And how does that go compared to other size motors/minis. I'm used to a 1275 been quite a long time since I drove a small bore. Trying to give my little brother a small sense of what to expect when his is registered.

I did a 998 screamer many years ago. HS6 SU, LCB medium bore and a warm cam. Went very well.

I did an 1108cc 998 a few years ago with a Perry Freeflow manifold and RC40 exhaust. 40 Dellorto and 34 chokes. 266ss cam. 202 head with Cooper 998 valves. It's still going hard in mate Joe's van.

Mine goes really well. It’s grunty down low and goes up hills fine. I have a limiter set at 6000rpm so it doesn’t have the top end rpm of other engines

Compared to some 1275 engines I’ve driven, mine seems a bit stronger down low but doesn’t have the top end pull

The Vizard book has plenty of good info on systems and what they are best suited for.
