Are the rotors, top entry caps and points all the same part numbers?
If not please advise the part numbers for each type of distributor.
I have tried g o o g l e and have been very confused.

25D

top entry cap =
points =

23D

Yes, 23D and 25D are dimensionally the same.

23D has no vacuum advance
25D has vacuum advance

There are a few different cap types (side entry, top entry) and different rotors but are interchangeable
There are standard points and heavier weight points

The part numbers of each depend upon the application that each was originally fitted to. I do have a table somewhere, ........

As already mentioned there may be different "pair" of parts depending on the application but basically each "pair" can be moved between a 23D and 25D.

The rotor for example might be different depending on the cap type, at least it is on some of the later distributors.

I wish my Bosch ignition parts catalogues would list the distributor model but they don't so I can't check part numbers easily.

Not sure what is meant by 'pair' but I would like to use them on a Mini.

One example for you: a mini distributor spins anticlockwise, so the rotor (in this case GL229) has an arrow and an extended leading edge. Others are straight, and others have an extended tip on the other side to suit a clockwise distributor

As long as you buy parts from a mini specific shop they should work fine

What I meant by pair is rotor and cap.
I know at least the later distributors used a different rotor depending on side or top entry cap.

I've been to that site 'timmy' and bought different parts recently, if you look at all the pictures there are 2 different rotors so I don't know what I will get.

Because of that I would order from elsewhere, maybe you could contact them to find out what type you will get. Not sure whether the older style would've been fitted originally to 25/23ds or not but they are what I have seen on DKY and DM2 distributors. I will look later and see if Bosch specified them as the same.

Both appear to be interchangeable as classic motoring indicates, I didn't know DM2 and DKY distributors used the same rotor as a 25/23d. The different designs must just be because they updated the design. I wonder when the "new" design was introduced, would minis have had the old one at all.

The DM2 was used on early 850’s according to my parts manual

The DM2 Lucas service parts list is below, for example the rotor is part number 400051 which is interchangeable with 25D
