So true. My Dino's colour is blu scuro (dark blue, non metallic) and it changes more dramatically (nearly a royal blue to blue/black) than your green depending on lighting,camera, time of day taken etc etc as you stated. Not everyone has colour corrected monitors to look at car pics on. Most colours are just like that and personal perception plays a large part as well.
For connaught green, there appears to be many british margues with the same colour name (MG, triumph, Jaguar and others) around that era and then the newer minis have a connaught green as well. I see in the "how to section, PPG paint codes", there is no listing for connaught green.
Still in two minds as to whether to paint mine connaught green again (with crystal white roof). At least if I chose to, I have the inside of the doors which have been covered with door trim for 50+ years to get a reasonable scan of the colour.
