Hi South Australian mini owners. Can anyone tell me if it's a legal requirement to have exterior mirrors on a 1960' s mini. If so which mirror do people prefer. I realise it's probably be good idea to have a drivers side one in today's traffic.

I have always had a driver's side one, but never had a passenger side mirror and never been pulled up due to it.

Side mirrors were only mandatory from 1972 with ADR 14, when you needed a drivers side external mirror. The passenger side one wasn’t mandatory until later than that

A company I worked for in 1982 had a XE falcon Ute povo pack bought new which never came with a passenger mirror so I assume it would have been after 82
