Hi Can anybody tell me if these parts are likey to be aftermarket service parts back in the day? I cant find any history on a MOWOG backing plate with P/N AYA0085. I assume MOWOG had a catalogue at some point for workshops to order repacement parts from, but these numbers a dissapearing over time.

Also a flywheel that only has two markings K369 stamped in the flange and A29…stamped in the back near a bolt hole. The rest of the number was cut off by the hole.

AYA0085 is an Australian part and is the standard backing plate (pressure plate) for several models in the Mini series. It supecedes UK sourced part 22A598.

Wow thanks winabbey thats neat. Didnt know they ignore the 00 in the part number. Was that a Leyland Australia source control drawing? Its good to know someone has these records. Would make a great hard copy to sell.

My limited understanding of MOWOG branded parts implies the part was made within the BMC/Leyland company or at least was made to order to BMC/Leyland specifications by outside specialist firms and the parts were used in original production or sold as genuine replacement parts. One reason why New Old Stock parts are valued and aftermarket reproductions are often so poor.

It's a page from the Mini parts catalogue that was held by BMC Dealers. The copy on the spare parts counter back in 60's usually had curly edges, thumb prints and pencil scribblings after years of daily use.
