Pedal box stud lengths tin and plastic styles.jpg

Photos of Mk 1 tin tank and Mk2 plastic reservoir style pedal boxes.
(Photo is a bit deceptive for length as the shorter one is further away).
Early Mk1 S(both tin tanks) on LH side: 20 threads are showing; 22mm long.

Mid-1970 Mk2 S (both plastic reservoirs) on RH side: 24 threads showing; 25.5mm long.

The early pedal box (on right) used hex bolts welded to the underside - Mk2 (on left) used special studs welded on.
Thanks mate.

The threaded bolts on my pedal box are shot. Is it possible to remove and replace them and if how.

Shouldn’t be difficult to repair. Cut the existing bolts off, drill through the centre where each bolt was cut off, tap out 5/16 UNF. A simple solution would be to screw in bolts of suitable length from below, or you could use threaded rod and tack weld in place, depending on how neat or original you want it to look. If I wanted an original look using bolts, I'd machine the heads round and reduce the head thickness, but extra work for a place not easily seen.
