Hi everyone

What insurance company is everyone one using these days.

My renewal came the other day and it seems a bit pricey

Thanks

Shannons - for both my daily and the van. Premium for both is less than what I was paying for just my daily with other insurers.

Shannons again - they're the most cost effective company I found that would insure my 850 for more than $3,500 (its "calculated value").
Probably others out there but I have found them quite good to deal with.
I haven't had to make a claim yet though!

Mine is with NRMA Veteran/Vintage/Classic. I put up the agreed value every year to the max they will let me over the phone (you can send photos and make an application to raise the agreed value if you need), from memory it’s around $25k agreed value and premium was a bit over $200

I tried Shannon’s for all my cars and house and they were about double for me

Used to be with Shannons, no complaints. Managed a better premium and maximum insured value with Lumley's. Easy to deal with, just had to send a few photos to justify the valuation

I rang Lumleys today and liked the idea of a $1000 excess resulting in a reduced premium given my mini’s relax in the garage more than they should

I will try NRMA and a few others before I commit

Thanks so far for your comments

Been with Shannon’s for years. Best price and agreed value and the value of the car goes up by a % each year automatically.

We had to make a claim a couple of years ago after some drunk did a hit and run on the MGB during the night and they couldn’t have been more helpful and understanding. Guaranteed repairs for the life of the car and the agent was genuinely concerned about how we were knowing that our pride and joy had been damaged.

Blue and Grey are both covered as resto projects and I’m paying less then $75 a year each with an agreed value I’m comfortable with which will be revised at each major stage of the project.

Is this normal?

Thanks

I use Enthusiast car insurance, mainly because Shannon's couldn't be bothered 2 years in a row to contact me with a quote  , if their service is that bad, they can go jump. With Enthusiast, my 1970 K is insured for 15k, full salvage rights and a free windscreen replacement yearly for $203p/a. 5000km per year full reg. Haven't claimed, so I don't know how they are with that side, but like most insurance companies, very happy when you give them money

I just got a similar quote from them (online quote, just out of curiosity). Might see what Shannons have to say about that, where is the extra value (2x the price) coming from?
Probably they all use the same underwriters anyway.

I found shannon's CBF attitude to be a deal breaker. Thier ads promise the world but their service is severly lacking.
Not sure if it is still going but RACV classic vehicle insurance used to be the best deal, for my needs anyway. I do not use them now due to a change in circumstances.

Seems to be some changes with Shannons under the Suncorp banner of late. Most probably cost-cutting. Still under AAI insurance as a whole though.
